Results of Limited Data Quality and Recipient Reporting Review at Near North Health Service Corporation
We determined whether Near North Health Service Corporation's (Near North) processes for compiling and reporting selected data provided reasonable assurance of compliance with section 1512 requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act).
Near North's processes for compiling and reporting selected data elements did not fully comply with section 1512 Federal requirements of the Recovery Act. Near North created a duplicate report in FederalReporting.gov and had significant reporting errors in its Federal reporting related to funds received, expenditures, jobs created or retained, and project status.
We recommended that Near North (1) establish and implement written policies and procedures in compiling and reporting of Recovery Act data elements, (2) follow current Health Resources and Services Administration guidelines that incorporate Office of Management and Budget reporting guidance, and (3) ensure that similar errors are not made in subsequent reporting periods. Near North indicated that it had taken action to comply with our recommendations.
