Review of Ohio's Reporting Fund Recoveries for Federal and State Programs on the CMS-64 for Fiscal Years 2008 Through 2009

Although the State agency reported Medicaid overpayments on the CMS-64, it did not always do so within the 60-day time requirement. In addition, the State agency did not report interest it collected on seven overpayments totaling $25,000 ($15,000 Federal share).

The State agency had not developed and implemented internal controls to ensure that it correctly reported Medicaid overpayments and the associated interest it collected from recovered overpayments on the CMS-64.
