The Medical University of South Carolina (an academic health science center with a 700-bed hospital) generally received Medicaid inpatient payments in accordance with applicable Federal and State Laws, regulations, and guidance. However, 1 unallowable claim in our sample of 100 claims resulted in an erroneous outpatient charge of $3,000.
