Thomas Jefferson University Generally Claimed Selected Costs Charged Directly to Department of Health and Human Services Awards in Accordance With Federal Regulations
Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) generally claimed selected costs charged to HHS awards in accordance with Federal regulations. During the period October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2010, Jefferson claimed $63 million in funding for grants, contracts, and other agreements with components of the Department of Health and Human Services. Jefferson received an additional $6 million under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Of the 204 transactions that we reviewed, 184 complied with Federal regulations, but 20 transactions did not. We estimate that Jefferson claimed $93,000 in unallowable costs
