Review of Provider Compliance With the District of Columbia's Medicaid Durable Medical Equipment Program Standards for Physical Presence

Of the 112 providers we visited, 92 complied with all 5 of the District of Columbia's (the District) Medicaid Durable Medical Equipment program standards for physical presence. Of the remaining 20 providers, 11 were not open for business the required 40 hours per week, 7 did not have a physical facility, and 2 did not have the required sign that would identify them as Medicaid Durable Medical Equipment program providers. The District terminated 10 of the 20 providers during our audit.
