Review of High-Dollar Payments for West Virginia Medicare Part B Claims Processed by Palmetto GBA for the Period January 1, 2003, Through December 31, 2005

During calendar years 2003-2005, Palmetto GBA, the Medicare carrier for West Virginia, overpaid providers $102,200 for five high-dollar (greater than $10,000) Medicare Part B claims. Three providers refunded three overpayments totaling $45,600 and two overpayments totaling $56,600 remained outstanding.
