New Jersey Improperly Claimed Medicaid Reimbursement for Some Home Health Claims Submitted by Home Health Agencies
New Jersey claimed at least $2.8 million in Federal Medicaid reimbursement for some home health services claims that were unallowable. We found that of the 100 claims in our random sample, 75 claims complied with Federal and State requirements, but 25 claims did not. These deficiencies occurred because (1) certain home health providers did not comply with Federal and State requirements and (2) the State agency did not adequately monitor the home health providers.
