Escambia County Resident Arrested for Exploitation
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Attorney General Pam Bondi's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office today arrested a woman for exploiting an elderly person. According to a MFCU investigation, Escambia County resident Sonya Sharika Blocker, 44, stole thousands of dollars from an elderly victim residing in a nursing home. Acting on a referral by Department of Children and Families, MFCU investigators worked with the Social Security Administration and discovered that Blocker stole more than $17,000 from the victim.
