Review of Pension Costs Claimed for Medicare Reimbursement by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana for Fiscal Years 2004 Through 2007

Executive Summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (Montana), a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) contractor, did not claim $671,000 of pension costs that were allowable for Medicare reimbursement for fiscal years 2004 through 2007. Montana administered Medicare Part A and Part B operations under cost reimbursement contracts with CMS until the contractual relationship was terminated November 30, 2006.
