Piedmont Hospital Did Not Fully Comply With Medicare Requirements for Obtaining and Reporting Credits for Replacement Cardiac Medical Devices

Executive Summary

Piedmont did not fully comply with Medicare requirements for obtaining credits available from manufacturers for replaced cardiac devices or for reporting the appropriate billing codes and charges to reflect the credits it received. Piedmont was overpaid approximately $8,000 for two inpatient claims.
